Overview

Solar Panel Cleaning by Prestige FM.

Dust, pollen, bird droppings, diesel soot and algae build up on solar panels and cut the electricity they produce, particularly on low-pitch commercial roofs that don’t self-clean in the rain. Large arrays on warehouses and factories can lose a noticeable share of their output before anyone notices.

We clean with purified water and soft rotating brushes, without detergents or pressure washing, so the anti-reflective coating and your panel warranty are protected. Roof work is planned around edge protection and fragile roof lights, with a full method statement.

Solar Panel Cleaning FAQs

How often should commercial solar panels be cleaned?
Usually once or twice a year. Sites near roads, farmland, quarries or with lots of birds may need cleaning more often.
Will cleaning affect my panel warranty?
Not when it is done correctly. We use pure water and soft brushes, with no pressure washing or harsh chemicals, following manufacturer cleaning guidance.
Do you clean panels on fragile roofs?
Yes, with the right access. We plan around roof lights and fragile areas using edge protection, walkways or our own cherry pickers, and never walk on the panels.
Do you provide solar panel cleaning across the UK?
Yes. Prestige FM provides solar panel cleaning nationwide, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, with one contract for multi-site clients.
